London Olympics 2012: Tintu Luka competes in 800m semis today
Indian National Record holder Tintu Luka has qualified for the 800m semifinals at the London Olympics 2012 with a timing of 2:01.75s at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday.

London: Indian National Record holder Tintu Luka has qualified for the 800m semifinals at the London Olympics 2012 with a timing of 2:01.75s at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday. She finished third behind first-placed Mariya Savinova (2:01.56) of Russia and Alice Schmidt of USA (2:01.65).
The semifinal and final of the event are scheduled for Thursday and Saturday respectively.
If she wins the semifinals, Tintu Luka will become only the third Indian to make the finals in track and field events at the ongoing London Games after Krishna Poonia and Vikas Gowda.
The other five Indians to make it to the final round of Olympic Games` track and field events are Milkha Singh (400m), Gurbachan Singh Randhawa (110m hurdles), Sriram Singh (800m), P T Usha (400m hurdles) and Anju Bobby George (Long Jump).
